Watercolour at ISOAG, Al Safa

Watercolour (watercolor) is light, fluid and wonderfully expressive — a portable, fast and forgiving-once-understood medium, perfect for washes, botanicals, atmospheric scenes and quick studies. Learning to control water and pigment is the key, and that is exactly what we teach.

Classes are led by our founder team — including UAE Cultural Golden Visa artist Ruxeena Musthafa — and shaped by art psychotherapist Najah Musthafa, so you learn real technique in a calm, supportive studio in Al Safa 1, Jumeirah. This page sits under our adult art classes hub; the same medium is also part of our kids classes.

What you'll learn

  • Flat and graded washes
  • Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry
  • Controlling water and pigment
  • Layering and glazing
  • Lifting, masking and texture
  • Botanical and landscape approaches

Who it's for

From complete beginners to painters who want to master the most unpredictable medium, watercolour is for you. Many Dubai studios cap their classes at 16+, but at ISOAG watercolour is open to all ages — adults, teens and children — at every level from complete beginner to advanced.

Why learn watercolour?

Watercolour teaches you to work with the medium rather than force it — a mindful, freeing approach many find deeply relaxing. It is portable, quick to set up and endlessly expressive, so it fits easily into a busy life while building genuine, transferable skill.
